The buzz word is Change!

Would you step out of your house today without a glimmer of fear today? Would you walk across the street without a care? Would you vacation with complete abandon or admire the beauty of India with a light heart? If your answer is no to all this, I ask you how much longer? Are we prepared to life in constant fear? Are we prepared to let the terrorists rule our lives and our earth?

So then how can we change this? How can we sweep our Indian political system clean.. for that seems to be the root cause of most of the mishaps that occur in our country.. Every morning as you turn on the news channel in India you hear about some act of terror in some part of the country.. then why aren't those acts openly condemned or spoken about by our politicians.. they are brushed away as yet another act of terrorism! For that has become a way of life... is that the value we place for lives?

I along with many others are beginning to ask this question today.. How can we change the world we live in? And more importantly how can we change our country and make it a safer place to live in? Lets not allow this date 26/11 to become yet another statistic.. let this be the day India starts her quest for greater good! Let all the martyrs of this day and all the fights against terror in the past not have laid their lives down in waste! Let their deaths inspire us to do something that can help our country! I am thinking hard.. and I urge you to do the same!

For those of you that want to help Mumbai victims ... Kiran from KarmicKids is spear heading a wonderful effort to help Mumbai. Lend your support - http://www.mumbaihelps.blogspot.com/

Well said, Preethi. After the Mumbai attacks I am also very angry and disappointed. I am looking for a forum to discuss Indian politics and Indian issues. We need to throw the entire cabal of corrupt, inept politicians out. We need a popular movement - almost an uprising. I think the angry people we saw on TV over the past week, skewering the politicians have the right idea. We need people with honesty and integrity who will do the right thing for India. I don’t care what political party they belong to. We need to organize all these disappointed and angry people and move forward to change the politics in India. Thanks for your blog. I also just started a new blog, just yesterday. Come join me if you can at http://eksur.blogspot.com

hm.. but my answer is a firm YES for all the questions... Terrorist like those will not instill fear in my mind - this is MY home, and I will live here without fear.

I personally believe, if the attacks instilled fear in the mind of us fellow Indians, then they won the war against us.

but yes, I agree a change is required. The political systems needs a complete overhaul. Now politics is the last resort to any scumbag who want to make some easy money. Many thugs and scoundrels who will never think twice before doing anything to get money hid behind the mask of politicians.

But how do we start the change? That is a question I am still thinking about. Politics is a number game - and the rots of corruption is too deep. But I am sure the collective thinking will yield some result.

Let us begin by educating the masses.Terrorists are chosen from among the needy, unemployed section of society.Easy money has always been in demand. The disparity between rich and poor is being painfully felt and we should work towards eliminating the divide and bringing everyone together. Why do I get the feeling that it is only because the super rich have been targeted this time governments at the centre and states have taken action.Shivraj Patil should have gone long back but Hotel Taj had to be attacked before it was done.

i keep thinking what the families of those dead must be feeling, everytime the govt lets them down,

in many ways i think we the peopl have let them down too, badly, by not taking our voting rights seriously, by not exercising our right to information, by wanting change but not knowing how to get it...

time to channelise all that anger into the right direction...

BTW, Kiran's blog URL has changed to indiahelps.blogspot.com since there was another one which was almost the same URL minus the 's' in 'helps'.
