Cant Wait for Santa

Oh am I impatient.
Most of you know how I have decided to celebrate all the american traditions this year so that Nantu has the best of both worlds.
Halloween and Thanksgiving went by without much fuss. And now its time for christmas! DH and I have been buying gifts for Nantu that Santa will bring him.. The highlight for this year was a lovely tunnel and tent play zone... I was so sure that Nantu would just love it...

Then DH went on a business trip last week. Nantu missed his dad so much, So I had DH give him one of the gifts pretending he had got that from the trip. Nantu was excited and played with the Word Whammer (find it at Amazon) for all of one day after which he found something else that interests him...
Anwyay, last evening I was sitting and talking to DH as he typed away at his comp. Nantu was playing on his own and he would go under the comforter and pretend thats his tent. I was sooo tempted to give him the playzone (Amazon link) and convinced DH that we had to give it to him right away..So I dragged it from hiding and set it up ( and broke my back in the process!). Nantu is so happy... but DH always practical has now asked the big question - so what do you plan to do for christmas.. I still have 2 more gifts that pale in comparison to this and a few books to give him... And I am hoping I can convince DH to shop some more!! (Now I know why my mom never bought me new clothes till the day before my bday). Forgive me Santa...
Talking of Santa, we went to the mall this weekend and Nantu thought sitting on Santa's lap was "Silly"!! So we never stood in queue to meet Santa like I wanted :(
Now for the rest of my post...
SNOW!!!! It snowed all weekend and we went zig zagging to our anniversary lunch treat and then to the mall through the snow filled roads. It was fun to watch all the cars do a drunken dance on the road while the pick ups whizzed past like nothing was wrong. It was more fun because DH was the one driving.
This morning we woke up to more snow... Oh it looks so beautiful, and I love it!!

Considering that I grew up in south India where the weather is sweltering hot all through the year, and that I first experienced snow only a year back (actually less by a month - You know this if you read Restless Feet) when I moved to Colorado from the Bay Area... I see so many of my friends cribbing about not having much to do in winter.. but who needs to do anything when you can watch the while snow sipping a cup of hot hot tea. I am off to do just that.
Thats a big post .. should keep me quiet for a day or two (or so I hope!)

wow! i wish you had been my mom :P .... Nantu is indeed lucky...

hmmm snow ... well i for one can never decide if i like the winter here or not ... no matter how much i love the sight and serenity of snow covered grounds, I really really hate the thought of having to go out anywhere - all decked up - gloves, cap, muffler, coat, socks and shoes ...!!! i long for those summer days when i could just walk out in PJs and a pair of sandals !!

The gift Santa decided to drop in early is cool!I bet Nantu had a great time playing with that tent. Even I end up giving the gift before the D-day most of the times be it birthday or anniversaties:)I'm so bad with keeping it all secret. So now you are off to convince Santa for another gift??:):)
I seemed to have missed your anniversary Preethi..Belated wishes for the same!

Vish - Yeah what a lovely idea.. that way we could really save some money!!
Dotmom - Now you've got me thinking...
Rayshma - How sad for you... Santa never visited me at all :( As for the line.. now you know whose kid not to borrow.. I cant believe he did that.. I felt so let down.. this was gonna be my first pic with Santa (I am gonna go and bawl my eyes out now!). Back got better, but bad again today I did some stunts at the gym :(
Vidya - I dont mind going out in the snow too... infact I kinda like the chill (yes I am crazy).. considering that I usually rush out with just a quickly thrown on jacket and after a short walk am frantically hunting for the gloves in the jackets pockets... (which I never find by the way) and then when I do get back from my rendevous my hands and ears are frozen!!
FL - Thanks for the wish. And yes Nantu loves this one.. I think Santa might go to the nearby target this weekend in one frantic attempt to find something of value. But Nantu's request to Santa this year was only for a bouncing ball.. which is already fulfilled.. so maybe Santa will get me something instead now??
